Value Proposition
As a major investment advisory in the Silicon Valley, Bakos Investment Management provides its clients access to institutional class mutual funds. These funds typically have a fee structure significantly lower than their retail share class. Additionally, these funds never have any front or back-endloads (fees). Minimum investment requirements to access these funds can range from one million to as much as five million dollars. As a Bakos Investment Management client these minimums are waived.
So what does this mean to you the client? According to Morningstar, retail class equity mutual funds have average expenses and fees of 1.45% annually. Institutional class shares have expenses and fees that typically run at less than .50% annually. By using institutional class shares rather than retail class shares you can save .95%, or even more annually. Even factoring in BakosInvestment Management fees that range from .5 to 1% annually, and are tax-deductible, in many cases your net cost of owning the mutual fund is less purchasing it through Bakos Investment Management than on your own.
